Slipped Gears Opens in Usdan Slipped Gears Exhibition Opens

Slipped Gears, a multimedia exhibition featuring the work of nine artists, opens in Bennington's Usdan Gallery on Tuesday, September 16, at 6:30 pm. The show offers challenging responses to a moment of tectonic cultural transition, when technology increasingly resides in and around us. The exhibition is available for viewing Tuesdays - Saturdays, from 1-5 pm, through Thursday, October 16. It is free and open to the public.

Bennington College Outside Classroom Bennington Earns High Marks

Bennington once again fared well in several national rankings compiled by The Princeton Review’s annual Best Colleges Guide, including “Professors Get High Marks” (#2), “Best Classroom Experience” (#4), "Best Theater" (#4), and “Most Accessible Professors" (#6). The College’s theater spaces and student houses were also recognized as being among the country’s most outstanding campus spaces.

Bennington College Reflections on My Inaugural Year (Summer 2014)

It was not quite a year ago that I arrived on the Bennington campus, thrilled to be joining this remarkable community—a community that over the next twelve months would add two more Pulitzers to its ranks, two more Fulbrights, another New York Times Magazine cover story, an upcoming solo exhibition at the Walker Art Center, an Echoing Green Fellowship, and countless other triumphs large and small.

Modernist Masters in Usdan Gallery Abstraction: Modernist Masters from the Bennington Collection

On view through September 3 at Bennington’s Usdan Gallery are iconic abstract works from the College’s Collection, including works by David Smith, Helen Frankenthaler ‘49, Larry Poons, Pat Adams, Hans Hofmann, Pat Adams, and other influential figures. The exhibition includes a sculpture by Sir Anthony Caro, on view for the first time ever, which was created using David Smith’s metal after his death.
