Reimagining Works by Grandma Moses
Visual arts faculty members Josh Blackwell and Colin Brant showed work in a recent exhibition at the Bennington Museum, Reimagining Grandma Moses.
In the show, "twenty-seven artists from [the] region reimagined, reinterpreted, or responded to the work of Anna Mary Robertson “Grandma” Moses...Some of the invited artists created a new work of art, others selected an already existing artwork that they felt embodied some aspect(s) of Moses’ work. The resulting exhibition is as diverse as the artists represented and as ripe for interpretation as Moses’ own works."
The show ran from December 12-29. The pieces were auctioned, with proceeds going to both the museum and the artists who provided work.
