Pibal Awarded $20,000 Artist Grant
Faculty member Ann Pibal was one of 30 U.S. artists this month to receive a $20,000 grant from the Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation.
Recipients of the unrestricted biennial award were chosen from more than 400 nominated artists in the fields of painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, crafts, and video.
Known for her colorful abstract paintings, Pibal was selected based on the quality and promise of her work, and for the critical and commercial recognition she has garnered.
"Our trustees remain committed to supporting talented artists, and in so doing commemorate our founder, Louis Comfort Tiffany, and his artistic legacy," said Angela Westwater, president of the foundation.
The Tiffany Foundation award is the second substantial artist grant that Pibal has received in the past year
