About

Mallory Moran is an archaeologist working for Parks Canada on the island of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, where she is based at the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site. Mallory graduated from Bennington in 2011, and went on to get her MA and PhD in anthropology from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA. Her dissertation research drew on archaeological and linguistic evidence to study the travel routes of the Wolastoqiyik through Maine and New Brunswick in the early historic period. In her current work, she helps to address the impacts of climate change and coastal erosion on sensitive archaeological sites.
