Oceana Wilson
Dean of the Library
Oceana Wilson has worked at Bennington College since 2001 and has served as Dean of the Library since 2015. She is integrally involved in supporting the work of the faculty and students at Bennington College and in creating a library aligned with the educational vision of the College. In addition, she is the president of the Vermont Library Association.
Wilson earned an MS in Library and Information Science from the Graduate School of Information and Library Science at Simmons College. Prior to her arrival at Bennington she worked at the Massachusetts Historical Society, the Rhode Island Historical Society Library, the Providence Athenaeum, Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, and the Rhode Island School of Design.
She has received a Carnegie Corporation of New York/New York Times "I Love My Librarian" Award for Outstanding Community Service and a Rebecca B. Stickney Award for service to Bennington College. She served as Acting Dean of the College from 2019-2021.
