OPEN TO THE PUBLIC | A Water Runs Through It: Tools for Water

A dance performance about the politicization of water access utilizing dowsing rods created by Michelle Samour, manipulated by choreographer and performer Souleymane Badolo with performer Abdoul Aziz Dermé and projections by Sue Rees.

Souleymane and Michelle’s work address issues of water access and divination—Michelle’s ongoing series of works about her Palestinian ancestral past investigates the Israeli government’s control of water in the occupied territories to further disempower/disenfranchise the Palestinians; Souleymane’s investigations into indigenous divination practices and his response to the water crisis in his home country of Burkina Faso where his activism has led to the repair and construction of numerous wells.
