Fred Block is a scholar and public intellectual who has written widely on issues of politics, inequality, and free market fundamentalism. Drawing on the intellectual legacy of Karl Polanyi, Fred's books and essays have made major contributions to our understanding of the state of inequality, the organization of the international monetary system, and the prospects for radical reform in U.S. society. He is also the President of the Center for Engaged Scholarship. Fred's forthcoming book, Habitation Society, will be published by Columbia University Press in November.
