OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AND AVAILABLE TO STREAM | Edward Carey and Aisha Sabatini Sloan will read as part of the Writers Reading series.

Edward is a novelist, visual artist, and playwright. His previous novels include The Swallowed ManLittle, Alva & Irva, and Observatory Mansions, and an acclaimed series for young adults, the Iremonger Trilogy. His writing for the stage includes an adaptation of Robert Coover’s Pinocchio in Venice, a continuation of the Pinocchio story. Born in England, he now teaches at the University of Texas in Austin, where he lives with his wife, the author Elizabeth McCracken, and their family.

Aisha is the author of The Fluency of Light (University of Iowa Press, 2013), Dreaming of Ramadi in Detroit (1913 Press, 2017) the book-length essay Borealis (Coffee House, 2021) and a collaborative book written with her father: Captioning the Archives (McSweeney's Publications 2021).
