Think Tank on Continuing Education in Prisons, part II

This think tank addressed the special challenges and opportunities for education that students serving life or very long sentences invites. Comprised of those who are working for criminal justice reform, formerly incarcerated people who have benefited from prison education, and leading prison educators, discussion centered around PEI’s continuing education program with a view to replicating, expanding, and building upon it. It also addressed the question: what kind of education is worth engaging as an end in itself? Discussion included how to measure outcomes, the benefits to individuals, to the institutions concerned, and the different models of how to deliver this education.
