Muhammad Ammar ‘24, has been recognized by the president of Pakistan for achieving the highest position in Pakistan in his International Baccalaureate Examinations. Ammar was invited to an award ceremony on March 17, in advance of Pakistan Day (March 23), at the President House of Pakistan. In addition to the ceremony and certificate of his achievement, Ammar also received a monetary award.
“Ammar started at Bennington this fall and hit the ground running. He is an insightful and diligent student and an active member of the Bennington Community. This winter, Ammar provided support as a Community Coordinator, and he is a valued member of the International Student Task Force. I’m so pleased to celebrate Ammar’s achievement,” said Rage Hezekiah, Assistant Director of Academic and International Student Services.
During the celebration ceremony, President Dr Arif Alvi urged students to gain skill-based education, embrace new technology, and focus on analytical skills to be successful in their future endeavors. Ammar has achieved a great honor with his high score, and is excited about what comes next as he continues his journey with the College.
"Growing up, I've always seen Pakistan's finest being awarded on Pakistan Day, so it was truly quite surreal for me to have my own achievements be recognized by the President on this important day,” said Ammar. “I'm very thankful to my IB teachers and my parents for helping make this possible; I'm now awaiting Biden's call on July 4th!"
