Dinah Lenney is the author or editor of five books of nonfiction, most recently Coffee, for Bloomsbury’s Object Lessons series. She has written for many publications, including The Washington Post, The New York Times, and the Los Angeles Review of Books, where she is an editor-at-large.

Biography

Dinah Lenney is the author of Coffee (Bloomsbury), The Object Parade (Counterpoint), and Bigger than Life: A Murder, a Memoir, selected for the American Lives series by the University of Nebraska Press. She co-wrote Acting for Young Actors (Random House), and co-edited Brief Encounters: A Collection of Contemporary Nonfiction with the late Judith Kitchen (W.W. Norton, 2015), and her work has appeared in a variety of publications including The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the Washington Post, AGNI, Creative Nonfiction, the Paris Review Daily, and the Los Angeles Review of Books, where she serves as an editor-at-large. Dinah has taught at UCLA, the University of Southern California, Pacific Lutheran University, and elsewhere. For four consecutive years, she has chaired the panel for the Christopher Isherwood Award for the Los Angeles Times Book Prizes.
