Poetry Reading: Cynthia Cruz & Sandra Simonds

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC | Cynthia Cruz is the author of five collections of poems, including Dregs (Four Way, 2018) and How the End Begins (Four Way, 2016). Notes Toward a New Language, a collection of essays on marginalization and silence, is forthcoming from BookThug; Cruz is also presently editing an anthology of Latina poetry. A curator and art writer, she is a regular contributor to the online art journal Hyperallergic. A former Hodder Fellow at Princeton University and presently a PhD candidate in German at Rutgers, she teaches poetry at Sarah Lawrence College.

Sandra Simonds is the author of six books of poetry, including Orlando (Wave Boosks, 2018), Further Problems with Pleasure (University of Akron Press, 2017), Steal It Back (Saturnalia, 2015), and The Sonnets (Bloof, 2014). Her poems have been published in the New York Times, the Best American Poetry 2015 and 2014, Poetry, the American Poetry Review, the Chicago Review, Granta, Boston Review, Ploughshares, Fence, and Lana Turner. She lives in Tallahassee, Florida, and is an Associate Professor of English and Humanities at Thomas University in Thomasville, Georgia.
