Carriage Barn Concert Series—Fall 2018

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC | Sopranos Erin Nafziger and Nellie Rustick present a recital of twentieth-century masterpieces for voice. The program features La Voix Humaine by Francis Poulenc, a monodrama (opera with one character) for soprano, based upon a libretto by Jean Cocteau. The program also features two of American composer Samuel Barber's best-loved works: Hermit Songs, ten songs based upon texts written by medieval Irish monks and hermits, and Knoxville: Summer of 1915, a setting of an autobiographical text by James Agee. Nafziger and Rustick are accompanied by pianist David Anderegg.
