Communicable Diseases

A communicable disease is one that can be passed from person to person. Some communicable diseases are less serious (such as chlamydia) and some are more serious and significantly impact one’s ability to navigate daily activities (such as COVID-19). We have a shared responsibility to our community to do what we can to keep each other safe. Students who know or are diagnosed with a communicable disease should report it to the Director of Health Services or Assistant Dean of Student Life and Director of Wellness, and follow instructions to mitigate the risk to the community. 

There are times when a specific communicable infection requires measures including but not limited to masking in specific spaces, quarantine, or limiting certain activities. The college will communicate specific instructions with students in this event. Students who fail to comply with the communicated instructions may be subject to the student conduct process.
