The magazine credits Bennington’s Plan Process—which enables students to map a course of individualized study and practice that goes beyond the bounds of a traditional major—with developing in students the capacities necessary to advance public action.

“When they want to change the world, they have the knowledge and resources to do it,” College Magazine said.

Bennington was the only liberal arts college to make the list, which also included Yale, Stanford, Columbia, Georgetown, and Harvard, among others.
