OPEN TO THE PUBLIC | Join Bennington faculty members Susie Ibarra and Karthik Pandian, and students from Visual Arts and the Center for Advancement of Public Action, in a conversation with renowned artist and “urban interventionist” Theaster Gates about how art can engage with, and impact, public life. This year’s Adams-Tillim speaker, Gates works as an artist, curator, urbanist, and facilitator, and his projects attempt to instigate the creation of cultural communities by acting as catalysts for social engagement that leads to political and spatial change.
