"Book Club Play" Opens At Hubbard Hall
The Book Club Play, written by Karen Zacarías and directed by Kirk Jackson, will open on March 4 at Hubbard Hall.
According to coverage of the upcoming show in Berkshire On Stage and Screen, "the play focuses on the fun, frivolity, and deeply serious politics found in our beloved Book Clubs. When a new member is hastily invited into this Club, will this group of friends ever be the same? Uproariously funny, this contemporary comedy lets us celebrate our love for reading while allowing us to laugh at ourselves – and our loved ones."
Sam Levit ’18 worked as the show’s dramaturg. Morgan Morse ’18, Megan Demarest, and Wade Simpson are acting in the production. The play will run from March 4-19, 2017. There will be performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 PM, and Saturdays and Sundays at 2:00 PM.
Berkshire On Stage and Screen also described Hubbard Hall as "a training ground for both young and seasoned artists. [They] continue to develop a new generation of artists and audiences while providing opportunities for artists and audiences to take new risks and grow beyond their comfort zone. Recognized as an arts institution in the state of New York, Hubbard Hall is a national model for community-based arts organizations."
