All Things Academic for Spring Term
Curriculum and Registration
The up-to-date spring curriculum is available online.
You may also review your course schedule for the spring term online in the student portal, Populi. Log in using your Bennington email username and password. Review the Courses section on the right side of the page to make sure those listed are the ones you intend to take. Room assignments will be added to course schedules in the next couple of weeks, so please check your schedule again prior to the first day of classes (February 20).
The add/drop form will open on February 17 at 4:30 pm, after the advising period. You will be able to add and drop courses through Friday, February 28—this is also the last day you may request a letter grade for one or more of your courses. Additional information about add/drop will be shared via email by the Registrar’s Office prior to the start of the term.
Course Materials and Bookstore
- Course books and supplies will be in stock and available for purchase through the bookstore, either by visiting the on-campus bookstore, or via the online store. Orders marked for on-campus pick up will be packaged and available for pick up at the bookstore. Students are encouraged to purchase their course books before the term begins and prior to your arrival on campus. However, most course materials are available through the college bookstore.
- A limited supply of course texts may also be found in Crossett Library. Donations from previous classes have enlarged the collection, which can be found on the bottom floor of Crossett, back wall directly across from the stairwell. Course books are available for term-long checkout, and the list can be viewed here: Crossett Course Books.
If you have any questions about materials for your courses, please direct them to the faculty teaching those courses.
Update Your Name and Pronouns
Students are responsible for reviewing and ensuring the accuracy of their record in Populi. Please use this form to notify the Registrar's Office of any updates to your name or the pronouns you use. You can also use this form to update your name with diacritical marks (accents, tildes, etc.) if they are not currently reflected in Populi. Only use this form if your current record is not correct. You must be logged into your Bennington email account to use this form.
UPDATE Contact Information Update Form
Students can now use the Contact Information Update Form on Populi to indicate if their bill should be emailed to another person in addition to themselves. Additionally, if students would like to give the College permission to speak with parent(s) or guardian(s) in regards to FERPA protected information (FERPA policy), please indicate this in the FERPA section of the form. Students can continue to make changes to parent/guardian, emergency, or missing person contact information on the Info tab of your Populi profile by updating specific sections on the update form.
Benny the Bot
Benny the Bot is Bennington’s AI chatbot whose purpose is to support students throughout the term. That support may look like checking in via text message, answering students’ Bennington-related questions, or providing links to helpful resources. Benny is so excited to welcome students back to campus 🤗 Students should look out for an introduction message from Benny the first week of classes!
