Artist whose work in sculpture and moving image argues for an ethics of taste
Biography
Katie Soule is an artist working in both sculpture and moving image. She recently graduated from the University of Chicago, earning a dual degree in Visual Arts and Philosophy (conc. Aesthetics). Her recent work argues for an ethics of taste, specifically calling into question the dubious democratic ideologies of “affordable modern design” and its capitalization on both the market and labor force of the lower middle class. She has been working professionally as a projectionist for over seven years, projecting in booths throughout the Midwest region. Soule was the video technician at Bennington from Fall 2015 through Spring 2017.
