Taylor ’64 Earns Tony Nomination
Emmy-winning actress Holland Taylor ‘64 has been nominated for a 2013 Tony Award for her portrayal of legendary Texas Governor Ann Richards in her one-woman Broadway hit, ANN.
Taylor, who wrote and performs the play entirely by herself, “has worked this lovably ornery woman deep into her bones,” said a New York Times theater critic. “If you can spy even a crack of daylight between actor and character in this performance, you’ve got better eyes than I do.”
The play has earned Taylor an Outer Circle Critics Award for Best Solo performance, and nominations for Drama League and Drama Desk Awards.
The 67th annual Tony Awards will be televised live on CBS on Sunday, June 9, at 8:00 p.m.
