Bennington to Simulcast 2012 Creative Time Summit
Bennington College will be one of 30 locations around the world to host a simulcast screening of the 2012 Creative Time Summit.
The annual conference, aimed at positioning artists at the center of public discourse, is focused this year on “Confronting Inequity Across the Globe.” Bennington will livestream an entire day of events—including presentations, performances, and panel discussions—on Friday, Oct. 12, from 10:30 to 6:35 pm, in Usdan Gallery. The screening is free and open to the public.
“Our goal at Creative Time is to connect socially-engaged artists with a global audience to foster a dynamic public dialogue around the most pressing issues of our time,” says Laura Raicovich, Creative Time’s Director of Global Initiatives. “As extreme gaps in wealth and power are revealed to undercut democratic values, makers of all stripes are driving thinking and action within diverse movements for greater equality. Artists, activists, and thinkers challenging the status quo together can inspire people to move mountains.”
The 2012 Creative Time Summit will take place at NYU’s Skirball Center for the Performing Arts on Oct. 12-13. See the official Creative Time press release for more information, including a schedule of events.
