Four College Issues Forum on Health Care Reform

Delos M. Cosgrove, M.D., chief executive of the world-famous Cleveland Clinic, will speak on "Developing a Health Care System for the 21st Century," on Friday, March 5, at 8:00 pm at the Church Street Center Auditorium in North Adams, MA.

The event, sponsored by the Four College Issues Forum—a collaboration between Bennington College, Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, Southern Vermont College, and Williams College—is free and open to the public.

Cosgrove will offer his years of experience and expertise to provide an informed perspective on the current debate surrounding healthcare reform. Under his leadership, the Cleveland Clinic maintained the country's top-ranked cardiac program for 10 straight years, while caring for some of the most critically ill patients in the country. One third of the hospital, which performed approximately 4,000 heart operations and 170 lung transplants last year, is made up of intensive care units.

Cosgrove is a member of 16 scientific societies including the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, the American Heart Association, and the American Association of Thoracic Surgery, for which he served as president in 2000.

He is a 1962 graduate of Williams College.
