Slow an Alarm Until It’s a Tone
The DEPE (Department of Education and Public Engagement) Space series presents Slow an Alarm Until It’s a Tone, by artist in residency Ben Hall ’04 at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit.
Drawing upon a fascinating array of references—from Ornette Coleman to punk rock back patches, Richard Pryor, Don Quixote, and Kwame Ture—Hall’s exhibition features a series of monoprints, videos, and paintings which explore how sound can influence and inspire radical thought. Hall recently presented on campus in October 2017 as part of Family and LAB Weekend, where he also received the 2017 ECVLA award.
