Jonathan Marc Sherman ’90 received the Hudas Schwartz Liff ’47 volunteer award for his support of Bennington. In her presentation, President Silver praised Sherman for the way he “sustains Bennington by making Bennington part of what he does.”
The award was presented on September 24 as part of Reunion weekend. President Mariko Silver gave remarks and presented the award.
According to Silver, "the award was established in 1985 to recognize alumni who have volunteered their time and efforts in outstanding ways." It is presented to an "extraordinary member of the Bennington community."
Silver noted Sherman's longtime involvement with the school, including the organization of several scholarships. She said: "he is someone who is constantly connecting and reconnecting with his fellow alumni, and in doing so he is creating and activating and contributing to the Bennington network in the world."
