Photo by Bruno ’14 Chosen for Greenpeace Exhibition
Thomas Bruno ’14 was one of 19 amateur photographers and the only American to have his work selected for an upcoming Greenpeace exhibition for pollution awareness in Turkey.
The exhibition, "What Goes Around Comes Around," was organized by Greenpeace International in Turkey, where it will open in a gallery in Istanbul before travelling to other cities around the country.
Bruno’s photo, “Smokestacks at Dawn,” was taken from the top of an apartment building in Bronx, New York, where he was helping his uncle with renovations.
“I saw these smokestacks in the distance with smoke coming out of only one of them and I thought to myself, ‘what a horrible view this is to have to look at every day,’ Bruno says. “So I took a photo because I felt like I had to capture the scene.”
After the exhibition, the photo will be used in Greenpeace marketing materials, including street and bus stop advertisements.
