This semester, Bennington Program & Activity Council (PAC) members Nila Devaney and Sophia Gasparro have been working closely with buildings and grounds and the campus Land & Building Use Committee to develop a permanent installation/mural joining the first and second floors of the Office for Student Engagement. Over the last two months, the "muralistas"—Devaney, Gasparro, Sam Krause ’17, Isa Coleman ’17, Phoebe Grace ’19, Iris Salin ’20, and Ciara Cagemoe ’20—have gone from concept to blueprint to finished product in providing the stairway space with a much needed facelift and all through the lens of a community based art project which has employed the steady hand of students from across campus. An opening for the piece is scheduled for Spring 2016, though the work is on display now and open to the public during normal college business hours.
