Meals, Arrival, and Quarantine Information—February 3, 2021
The following message was sent to Students on February 3, 2021.
Greetings Students!
I hope that you are doing well. Thank you to those of you who were able to attend our Question & Answer session last week and submit questions ahead of time. For those of you who were not able to attend, we have recorded that session and it is available on our website.
Arrival to Campus
Thank you for all of those who have scheduled their appointment to arrive on campus by using the CoVerified App or website as described in the email sent on January 26. If you have not yet scheduled this, please do so immediately so we are able to plan for your arrival. All appointments need to be scheduled by February 5. If you need assistance with CoVerified, please contact Health Services. Next week, we will be sending out a video that will explain everything about your arrival on campus. Note that students can bring two family members or friends with them for the move-in process, but those members cannot enter any campus buildings, including student houses.
Meal Information
Chef Steve has shared the menus for meals during quarantine. As a reminder, each student will receive a bag that contains food for the in-room quarantine, during check in. This will be non-perishable food and all of the items can be found in this list. Beginning Monday, breakfast food (items listed here) for the House quarantine period will be provided in bulk, and small groups of students from each house will go to either the Dining Hall or Roz’s to pick up lunch and dinner meals for the entire house (the schedule for this will be provided once on campus). Menus for that week are listed here. During the House quarantine, students will be able to access kitchens and common spaces to prepare and eat these meals.
House Quarantine
Students will be able to check their first test result via the CoVerified app or website and once they receive a negative test, they can move into the House quarantine period. During this time, students can access all areas of the house along with designated areas right outside of each house. We expect that students will receive their first test result 24-48 hours after their test, but it could be longer. Students should reach out to Health Services if they have not received their test result in 48 hours. During the House quarantine, students need to wear masks throughout the house (and outside) and also maintain physical distancing of 6 feet/2 meters. This is extremely important during the arrival period. Students will receive their second test on Monday, February 22 and will receive a test time the week prior to know what time they need to attend testing. Appointments will be scheduled by House so that all housemates are tested at the same time. This test (along with subsequent tests throughout the spring) will take place in the lower level of the Student Center. Students will be released from the House quarantine by an official email from Student Life. This will not happen until all students in that house have received a negative test result (or contact tracing has been completed for any students who may test positive).
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out, and also check out the Frequently Asked Questions.
