Lerman ’69 Awarded Grant
Choreographer Liz Lerman ’69 (below, center) was one of 50 artists this year to receive a $50,000 fellowship from United States Artists (USA).
The organization, which awards grants annually to outstanding visual, media, literary, and performing artists, called Lerman “a pioneer in making site-specific dances and including various communities in artistic and civic engagement projects.” Lerman, the founding director of Liz Lerman Dance Exchange, was awarded the prestigious MacArthur “Genius” Award in 2002.
