Forbes Ranks Bennington One of America's Most Entrepreneurial Colleges
Citing Field Work Term, Forbes magazine recently ranked Bennington as the forth most most entrepreneurial college in the nation.
Forbes magazine recently ranked the country’s most entrepreneurial schools based on the entrepreneurial ratios—the total number of alumni and students who have identified themselves as founders and business owners on LinkedIn, divided by the school’s student body.
Bennington ranked fourth, after Cooper Union, Middlebury, and Colorado College.
The article cited Bennington’s Field Work Term. Bennington is the only college in the country to require an annual internship since its founding. For two months every winter, students work with an organization or institution of their choosing, anywhere in the world, to apply what they have learned on campus. That experience is integrated into their educational Plan, as much as their coursework. In addition to building a resume and honing in on the work they find most meaningful and rewarding, work experience helps students engage with their studies in more meaningful ways.
