Ferrary Simon ’03: “Don’t Let Fear Stop You”
The Serbian publication eKapija called Catherine Ferrary Simon ’03, head of Namics in Serbia, “one of the most inspirational people that we’ve had the opportunity to interview.”
In addition to her role at Namics, the leading Swiss agency for software development, Ferrary Simon manages her own consulting business, Rock Star VA. She’s lived in Philadelphia, New York, Florence, Cannes, Croatia, Milan, and Belgrade. Ferrary Simon ’04 worked in the fashion industry before transitioning to the IT world, where she’s been an advocate for the empowerment of women.
She explains how Bennington helped her to launch her life and career abroad.
“Bennington is a unique place which allows students to create their own curriculum and path of study, with the support of a committee of professors who follow and mentor their progress. My curriculum included half a year of study in Italy each year; I also spent a summer studying French in Cannes, and a semester in Dubrovnik, Croatia at the American College of Management. After graduating from Bennington in 2003, I enrolled in the master’s program at the European Institute for design in Milan.”
