Clement ’08 Making a Lasting Impact in Bennington Community
The Bennington Banner this week featured a story on Sam Clement ’08, a Maine native who stayed local to Bennington after graduating and has since been volunteering his time and music to the community.
Clement works with middle school students in an after-school arts program, mentors a nine-year-old as part of the United Counseling Service Big Brothers/Big Sisters program, and has been playing weekly open-mic gigs, donating his tips to a different non-profit group each week.
"Everyone's always talking about how to make this town better,” Clement said. “I think a lot of people are focused on bringing people here, and it seems to me they're less focused on keeping the people who are here, here. For me, it was about getting involved with the awesome people that are here.”
