Bennington Scores High Marks in 2016 College Ranking
The Princeton Review has released its 2016 rankings of the best colleges in the U.S., and Bennington has been given high marks in a number of categories. The College achieved the #2 spot on the list for “Best Classroom Experience”; it also ranked #2 on the list for “Professors Receive High Marks,” citing Bennington faculty members as some of the most interesting and accessible in top U.S. colleges. Bennington clinched the top spot for “Best College Dorms” and claimed #3 position on a list of “Best College Theater.”
The rankings are based on a survey of 136,000 students at 380 top colleges, in which students are asked to rate their schools in a number of categories and report on their student experiences.
In addition, Princeton Review’s conferred an academic ranking of 97 to Bennington College, based both on student surveys and data provided by the school. According to the organization, “Factors weighed include how many hours students study outside of the classroom and the quality of students the school attracts. We also considered students' assessments of their professors, class size, student–teacher ratio, use of teaching assistants, amount of class discussion, registration, and resources.”
Bennington has been consistently recognized in the Princeton Review rankings for its unique approach to teaching and learning and for the spaces in which its students live and work.
The College has also been identified by the Princeton Review as a leader in sustainability in their Guide to Green Colleges.
The announcement of by the Princeton Review follows close on the heels of the announcement by Forbes magazine that Bennington College ranks fourth on its list of most entrepreneurial colleges.
