Asad J. Malik '19 Partners to Create Augmented Reality Music Video
Bennington College alum, trustee, and award-winning augmented reality creator Asad J. Malik '19, has collaborated with protest art collective, Pussy Riot, to create a music video for their new single, “Panic Attack.”
For the video, Malik’s hologram production company, Jadu, created an immersive augmented reality experience meant to be a first-hand account of a person “struggling with life overwhelmed by panic disorder.”
The music video will also be for sale inside of four limited-edition Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), with proceeds going to support Russian women’s shelters. The first video sold at auction for $187,000, and the second for $24,000, with the remaining slated to sell on March 27 and April 3.
Malik was named one of the Top 10 Filmmakers to Watch by The Independent in 2018, and was most recently featured on Forbes’ 30-Under-30 in Marketing & Advertising.
