A Brooklyn native, Horse’s Mouth’s Tavo Carbone met his band mates at Bennington College years ago and they have been playing Carbone’s songs together in various forms since 2005. You can hear the chemistry between the musicians almost immediately upon listening. The live performances are impressively faithful to the record without losing any of the feeling of fun and spontaneity. The band is comprised of Tavo Carbone on voice, guitar and piano, Heather Sommerlad on violin and voice, Matt Scott on bass and voice, Michael Chinworth on piano, accordion and voice , JJ Beck on drums, piano, accordion and glockenspiel and Sam Clement on guitar and voice. Nailgun Media says, "Tavo Carbone is an exceptional songwriter, somewhere loosely in the vein of Tom Waits, Frank Zappa and other oddball geniuses. His arrangements are lush and orchestral and sound as if they were filtered through a gramophone." Phrequency, from Philadephia PA elaborates further on Horse’s Mouth frontman, "Carbone himself is quite the performer, thrashing around, making funny faces, and tonguing each syllable dramatically like a chirpy Rufus Wainwright."

Opening up for Horse’s Mouth are the Dupont Brothers, a Burlington, VT based indie-folk- americana duo. Since the start of the band in March of 2013, the brothers, Zack and Sam, have toured heavily throughout the Northeast, Mid Atlantic, South and Mid West in an independent pursuit to get their songs to as many ears as possible. Their travels have opened doors to festival appearances at SXSW and Grand Point North in addition to performances in support of some of their musical heroes including Bahamas, Blake Mills, Sturgill Simpson, Ben Sollee, Chris Eldridge, Julian Lage and Jerry Douglas to name a few. Joining them will be Rob Morse on Upright Bass.

Bennington College’s Program Activity Council is made up of a student board exploring and connecting with Bennington area events. Don’t miss this exciting evening of live music!

Thyme Tables Catering will bring the cash bar and Bringing You Vermont will have munchies on hand to purchase.
