OPEN TO THE PUBLIC | Jericho Brown is the author of three books of poetry, Please (New Issues, 2008), which won the American Book Award, The New Testament (Copper Canyon, 2014), which won the Anisfield-Wolf Book Award and was a Library Journal Best Book of the Year, and, most recently, The Tradition (Copper Canyon, 2019). His poems have appeared in Bennington Review, Buzzfeed, The Nation, The New Republic, The New York Times, The New Yorker, Time, and The Pushcart Prize Anthology, and several volumes of The Best American Poetry anthologies, and his work has been recognized with a Whiting Writers’ Award and fellowships from the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation, the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University, and the NEA. He is an associate professor at Emory University in Atlanta, where he directs the creative writing program.
