One of the most compelling voices in American poetry, Terrance Hayes is the author of five books of poetry, including How to Be Drawn, longlisted for the 2015 National Book Award in Poetry; Lighthead, winner of the 2010 National Book Award in Poetry; and Wind in a Box. He has been a recipient of many honors and awards, including a 2014 MacArthur Foundation Genius Award, eight Best American Poetry selections, a Whiting Writers Award, a Kate Tufts Discovery Award, and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship and the Guggenheim Foundation. A longtime faculty member at Carnegie Mellon University, he is now a professor at the University of Pittsburgh.
