OPEN TO THE PUBLIC | Bennington continues its partnership with Stair in Hudson, NY, to offer a second benefit sale of more than 100 contemporary works of art from the collection of noted art patron and collector Melva Bucksbaum (1933-2015). All proceeds from the online benefit auction will benefit Art for Access scholarships.
Included in the sale are works by well-known, emerging and mid-career artists in a myriad of styles, media and price-points. Highlights in the sale include works by Donald Judd, Robert Mapplethorpe, Duncan Hannah, Sarah Anne Johnson, Valery Koshlyakov, Dwayne Moser, Chen Quingqing, Andrew Sendor, Xiaojin Wang, Holly Coulis, Tom Friedman, Bryan Hunt, Jeff Koons, Dianna Molzan, John Newman, and Alexis Rockman.
Trustee, alumna, and Art for Access Committee co-chair Mary Bucksbaum Scanlan '91 donated 600 works from her mother’s collection over the past two years. Art for Access celebrates Bennington’s pioneering visual arts legacy by inviting gifts of art to expand the College’s dynamic art holdings, and raising funds for scholarships through the regular sale of selected artworks.
