OPEN TO THE PUBLIC | Antonio Machado (Sevilla, 1875 - Collioure, 1939) is one of the great figures of modern European literature. Antonio Machado was not only a major Spanish poet, he was also an exemplary poet-philosopher, who was poetically concerned with questions of metaphysics and intuition. Antonio Machado's thought invites us to widen the limits of knowledge, to rise above the senses through speculative thought, embracing the multiple paradoxes, antinomies, stuttering and contradictions that are an attempt to understand the intimate life of the world, while recognizing the ultimate impossibility of such a task.
