OPEN TO THE PUBLIC | BFA Dance faculty and musician Kingsley Ibeneche's performance and research has been entangled in the poetics of survival for some time now. Using hip-hop, folklore, guitar, and sampling as a vehicle toward unlearning and rebuilding, Kingsley investigates movement as mantra and song as code, working through genres like soul, r&b, folk, and jazz.

Nigerian-American dancer and singer/songwriter Kingsley Ibeneche was born, raised, and is currently living in Camden, New Jersey. Kingsley received his BFA from the University of the Arts in Ballet Performance, currently at Bennington College receiving his masters. Ibeneche has had the pleasure of being a part of Pilobolus Dance Theater. He has performed internationally and on national network television including SNL and MTV's VMAs and has written, directed, and choreographed works at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and The Barnes Foundation: Realms: A Soul Opera and Dear Empath, respectively. His musicianship has helped him create 3 completed bodies of musical work, including Udo—his debut album—as well as a generous amount of vocal features with acts such as Boddhi Satva, IvySole, Solchyld, and Lee Clarke.
