*CANCELED*—Sasquatch Search
*CANCELED* - This event will be rescheduled in the fall.
The event will kick off with an introduction by Christopher Noel, an author and former writing professor at Vermont College of Fine Arts. Noel has written many books on Sasquatch and makes the search for Sasquatch part of his daily life. He will speak to guests about his own experience with Sasquatch in Vermont and get attendees excited and ready to look for Sasquatch on the trail. Groups will line up at the trail and be given notepads to carry with them on the walk. Volunteers will be stationed at points along the walk next to signs of Sasquatch and the children will get stamps in their notebooks for each sign of Sasquatch discovered. When the children are done with the walk, they will be able to show the stamps in their book at a table and get a prize and a themed snack, prepared by a local bakery.
In the park, Lake Paran Recreation will have an area and a table with fun nature artifacts and activities for the kids to enjoy. These artifacts can include animal skulls, bugs in resin, and any aquatic artifacts Lake Paran Recreation has that they would like to share with the community. We will also have soccer balls and other sports equipment in collaboration with the Bennington Recreation Center which will allow kids to continue the outdoor fun.
We need volunteers! If you are interested in volunteering contact rubyhaller@bennington.edu.
