Bennington College celebrated the achievements of the Class of 2019 at Commencement this year with the three members of the acclaimed folk trio Mountain Man: Molly Erin Sarlé ’12, Amelia Meath ’10, and Alexandra Sauser-Monnig ’09, who shared their advice to their younger selves, spoke on the importance of balance and collaboration, and performed several songs.

The three members of the acclaimed folk trio Mountain Man—Molly Erin Sarlé ’12, Amelia Meath ’10, and Alexandra Sauser-Monnig ’09—will address the class of 2019 at Bennington College’s 84th commencement dinner on Friday, May 31, at 7:00 pm on Commons Lawn. The event will be livestreamed.

A live performance by Mountain Man, the singing folk trio of Amelia Meath '10, Molly Sarlé '12, and Alex Sauser-Monnig '09, was aired this month on NPR's World Cafe, a nationally broadcast program that showcases indie rock, singer-songwriters, folk, alternative country, blues, and world music.

Magic Ship, the latest album from the folk trio comprised of Amelia Meath '10, Molly Sarlé '12, and Alex Sauser-Monnig '09, will be the group's first album in eight years.

The night after Alex Bleeker ’08 performed on Conan with his band Real Estate, Amelia Meath ’10 (of Sylvan Esso, who played Conan the week prior) and Alexandra Sauser-Monnig ’09 sang backup for Hiss Golden Messenger on the Letterman show.

Mountain Man, the up-and-coming folk trio of Amelia Meath '10, Molly Sarle '12, and Alex Sauser-Monnig '09, continued to impress on their recent summer tour, which included a stop at the 2011 Newport Folk Festival (listen on NPR), and an "engrossing performance," according to The New York Times, at the famed Mercury Lounge.
