Biography
McAuliffe has always wanted to help children and their families. After taking her very first psychology class as an undergraduate at St. Lawrence University in Northern New York (where she is originally from), it became clear to her that becoming a psychologist was going to be the best way to provide that help. She earned an M.A. and Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Bowling Green State University in Ohio, specializing in both clinical child and clinical community psychology. She received advanced clinical training at the Yale University School of Medicine and at the University of Rochester Medical Center. She also owns private practice and is a licensed, practicing clinical psychologist in several different states. Her main expertise is with children, adolescents, young adults, and families.
McAuliffe enjoys teaching a variety of courses including Adult Psychopathology, Child Psychopathology, Counseling Theory & Practice, Research Methods, Introduction to Psychology and Community Psychology. Her favorite classroom environment is one in which she can really get to know her students and aid them in reaching not only their academic goals but also their life goals as well.
McAuliffe was a visiting faculty member at Bennington for Spring 2022 and Fall 2022.
