Paul Baker-Porazinski
Director of Campus Safety
Paul Baker-Porazinski is the Director of Campus Safety at Bennington College. He joined the College as Associate Director of Campus Safety and was later appointed Interim Director. As Director, Paul reports to the Vice President and Dean of Student Life and is part of the Senior Staff team.
The Director provides transformative and relationship-based leadership to Campus Safety in its mission of ensuring the safety and security of the campus for students, faculty, staff, and visitors 24/7. Paul oversees a large team of officers, dispatchers, and van drivers, working in partnership with the entire campus community to establish and sustain an antiracist, welcoming, safe, and inclusive living, learning, and working environment. The Campus Safety team works to positively impact the campus by building community relationships, promoting accountability, and reinforcing community standards and College policies/procedures, as well as working in partnership with external agencies/resources as needed.
Paul has a vast array of relevant experience working with young adults, educational professionals, and community constituents. He was a Vocational Specialist and Director of Operations for Path at Stone Summit, a small, private, residential therapeutic center for young adults struggling with mental health and substance abuse issues in Vermont. Prior to that Paul served as a Principal, an Assistant Dean of Students, an Assistant Principal and as a President of the Board of Education for various school districts in New York.
Paul received a master’s of science in Education from Alfred University, his Permanent Certification in School Administration and Supervision in New York State from the College of Saint Rose, and a bachelor’s of science in Applied Arts and Sciences from Cazenovia College.
