Bestselling author and columnist Michael Pollan '76
has won his second James Beard Award for Best Food Writing
with his latest book, In Defense of Food: An Eater's Manifesto
A follow-up to the best-selling Omnivore's Dilemma, which earned Pollan a Beard Award in 2007, In Defense of Food is a "tough, witty, cogent rebuttal to the proposition that food can be reduced to its nutritional components without the loss of something essential," wrote The New York Times.
Deemed "the Oscars of the food world" by Time magazine, the James Beard Awards are considered the most prestigious in the food industry.
