Faculty member and psychologist David Anderegg was a featured speaker at the inaugural San Diego Science Festival on Tuesday, March 17, in the city's public library.
Anderegg, author of Nerds: Who They Are and Why We Need More of Them, joined a panel of local science and math educators to discuss the effects of social stereotypes on children.
The San Diego Science Festival runs from February 28 - April 4, and includes hundreds of free activities throughout the city. The event is "the biggest celebration of science the West Coast has ever seen," according to the San Diego Science Alliance.
