Just as students take increasing responsibility for the planning of their programs of study, students also are engaged in the regulation of their lives on campus. In addition to giving shape to close-knit communities within their houses, students play active roles in student governance and campus activities. They
can choose to join an existing student group, start their own
organization, or apply for one of several leadership opportunities within various governing bodies, including House Chairs, Student Educational Policy Committee, Judicial Committee, and the Program Activity Council.
The Program Activity Council, in conjunction with the Office of Student Life, plans the majority of social events on campus, although house communities and academic programs also plan many campus-wide events.
