Two Ways to Apply: The Choice Is Yours

For first-year students applying to the College, Bennington offers two options:

THE DIMENSIONAL APPLICATION
Share a collection of your work that reflects your capacities and demonstrates creativity, curiosity, and readiness to meet the demands of a Bennington education.

THE COMMON APPLICATION
In addition to the standard application, you'll be required to submit recommendations and transcripts.

Both applications provide you with opportunities to demonstrate your readiness for Bennington and to share samples of your work—but with two distinct ways of doing so. Early admission is possible through both the Dimensional and the Common Application.

Undergraduate Application Deadlines

Are you applying for early decision, early action, or regular admission? Are you a transfer student or planning to join in the spring term? Check the schedule of application deadlines to make sure you're on track.

Transfer Students

Our transfer students are part of a growing community at Bennington. Approximately ten percent of our student body has transferred here from another institution, and we welcome applications from students who think Bennington might be the right place to complete their undergraduate education.

International Students

Roughly 17 percent of Bennington's campus is comprised of international students from countries across the world, from Pakistan to England to Japan.

Visit Bennington

When you visit, you’ll meet and talk with students. You’ll get a personalized, student-led tour of the campus. And if you visit during fall or spring term, you’ll get to sit in on a class that interests you.

Homeschool Students

Given the self-directed nature of Bennington's education, homeschooled students often find that Bennington is the right next step in their educational journey. Homeschooled applicants follow the same procedures as first-year or transfer applicants, with some changes to the requirements.

Early Application Programs

The College offers an application plan to fit every college search. Increasingly, our applicants indicate strong interest in early admission programs, and in response, we support both Early Decision and Early Action plans.

Financial Aid

Bennington offers a range of options for financing your education, whether you're an undergraduate or graduate student. Learn more about what funding opportunities are available to you.

Special Circumstances

Do you have questions about a special application circumstance, such as how to take a class at Bennington as a non-degree student, or how to finish your high school education at Bennington?

Graduate and Postbac Programs

There is a separate admissions process for each of Bennington's MFA graduate programs and for the postbaccalaureate premedical program.
